1939 28,xxx Selmer Balanced Action Tenor Saxophone, Video
1939 28,xxx Selmer Balanced Action tenor saxophone. This horn was previously owned by a top DC pro who you can see playing this sax in the video. The horn was just overhauled in 2019 by Eric Beach, whose work is top notch. The Pisoni Pro pads are still in excellent condition and the action feels tight and locked in. Eric used reusable ResoTec nickel plated resonators for the overhaul, which is a great choice for this horn.
The sax is in fantastic physical condition and is very clean overall. Although the lacquer is not original, the engraving is deep and 100% intact. The neck is original to the horn and has never been pulled down. There are no dents and the body appears exceptionally clean, considering the fact that it's over 80 years old. The sax comes in a Selmer branded Walt Johnson case. The top latch is not working and can either be repaired or not used, since the other two latches are working.
