This is a pretty rare soprano model that does not come up for sale very often. This example has original lacquer and is in great condition overall, especially for a horn that is now over 50 years old. Other than a small ding just above the octave key mechanism, the sax is very clean.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-end=\"615\" data-start=\"344\"\u003eMy repairman just serviced the horn, so it is playing well in all registers on its older set of pads. I can get around easily on this soprano, and playing down to low Bb is easy. The low notes speak clearly for me without any gurgling. The sax comes in its original case.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-end=\"1000\" data-start=\"617\"\u003eThis horn has a unique voice that is different from just about anything else out there. Tonally, it goes a bit in the direction of an orchestral oboe, with a lovely complexity to the sound and a voice that can carry exceptionally well. I also like how the horn takes air. It feels very responsive, as many one piece straight sopranos tend to, but with more tonal character than most.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp data-is-only-node=\"\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-end=\"1337\" data-start=\"1002\"\u003eErgonomically, this feels better to me than a Mark VI soprano, largely because the palm keys are not inline. It does not have a neck strap hook, but it does have a lyre holder, which could be modified to accommodate a neck strap.
