1937 282,xxx Conn 10M Tenor Saxophone, 90% Original Lacquer, Just Serviced

1937 Conn 10M tenor saxophone, s/n 282369. The lacquer is original and over 90% of it remains. Original lacquer 10M's are hard to find now, since so many of them were relacquered over the years. The neck is original to the horn and has never been pulled down. There are no resolders.

My repairman just serviced the sax prior to sale. He replaced one pad and a handful of key corks, then regulated the rest of the pads. The remaining pads are older, but they seal well and the horn plays easily from top to bottom.

This is a prewar 10M with rolled tone holes, which is the vintage most players look for. The sound is huge, dark and wide open, with a great low end. Low Bb has a lot of power and speaks easily.

The sax comes in a vintage Selmer Mark VI tenor case. The case fits the horn well. That is not a given with a 10M, since the bell keys sit on the left side and many cases do not make room for them.
