Yamaha YSS-62R Soprano Saxophone, Purple Label, Near Mint, Just Serviced

Prix de vente$ 4,900.00

Purple label Yamaha YSS-62R soprano saxophone, s/n 345. Yamaha introduced the 62 soprano in 1978, and it quickly became the model that established Yamaha as a maker of professional sopranos. The current 82Z is based on it. The 62R is the curved neck version. With a three digit serial number, this is a very early example from the first production run, with the purple logo on the bell. The body and neck are one piece, which gives the horn a very direct feel and response, and the curved neck makes for wonderful ergonomics.

The saxophone is in near mint condition and comes from its original owner. It was overhauled recently with white kangaroo pads, which are still in almost new condition. My repairman just serviced the horn prior to sale, and everything is sealing well. It plays easily all the way down to low Bb and the entire range speaks with ease.

This is one of the easiest playing sopranos you'll find. The response is immediate and the horn feels very connected to the player. Intonation is excellent and the sound is warm and even from top to bottom. It comes in its original Yamaha case, also in excellent condition.
