1972 19,xxx Buffet Super Dynaction Tenor Saxophone, 99% Original Lacquer, Excellent Condition

1972 Buffet Crampon Super Dynaction tenor saxophone, s/n 19468. The original lacquer is over 99% and the horn is in excellent condition throughout. The pads are in good shape and everything seals well. The horn plays easily from top to bottom.

The sound is what sets these horns apart. It's dark but incredibly rich in overtones, and it reminds us of a 10M, but even better. The core stays centered whether you're playing soft or pushing hard, and it works well on both classical and jazz styles. This is one of the most pleasing sounds of just about any vintage tenor.

Buffet made far fewer of these than Selmer made Mark VIs, which is the main reason the model isn't better known. This is a late production example, made a couple of years before Buffet moved to the S1. For the money, it's a strong value compared to Selmers in similar condition and vintage.
