Early 1900's Selmer Stencil Alto Saxophone Mouthpiece, G Valette Paris

G Valette Paris alto saxophone mouthpiece. This arrived in the same case as an identical mouthpiece stamped H. Selmer Paris. The Selmer Paris mouthpieces are documented on Theo Wanne's excellent Selmer mouthpiece history webpage as being Selmer's first mouthpiece design from the early 1900's. Both have large chambers and scooped out side walls.

Considering its age, this mouthpiece is in fantastic condition. It's hand faced so impossible for me to tell if the facing is original. It's quite closed by today's standards. The tip opening measures .050".
