163,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Original Lacquer
163,xxx Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone with approximately 75% original lacquer. This horn just came back from my repairman who performed some pad adjustments. The instrument is sealing well and plays from top to bottom with ease. The pads are in decent shape and have plenty of life left. The neck is of an earlier vintage, with a serial number stamp of 126,xxx. The neck also has a patch from a microphone pickup on the side of the neck. The sax comes in a ProTec case in decent condition.
The 140's to 160's can be incredible playing horns, and this one fits that category. It has a really nice sonic profile. The sound is incredibly full but still compact. The tone is slightly on the dark side but it has incredible power.
This is a perfect player's horn for those looking for a top quality Mark VI still in that sweet spot between the 140's and 160's.
