1946 King Super 20 Alto Saxophone, Full Pearls, Video
1946 King Super 20 alto saxophone, s/n 278852. Here is a very early King Super 20, made in just the second year of production. This is a first series, which has more ornate engraving on four key cups and extra pearl touches on the palm keys, RH side keys and the octave key. It also has three neck strap rings, which can only be found in the first series Super 20.
This is a great playing horn. The lacquer does not appear to be original, and the pads are mostly on the older side. The sax plays well in all registers, but could benefit from a service or repad in the near future. The sax comes in an original Walt Johnson case and Selmer case cover.
