1935 267,xxx Conn 26M Connqueror Alto Saxophone, Original Lacquer, Overhaul, Video
26M Conn Connqueror alto saxophone, s/n 267962A. Here's a remarkably preserved top of the line Conn naked lady model, which still has 95%+ of its original lacquer intact. Conn made very few 26M saxophones. They had to be specially ordered, and about 1 out of every hundred 6M's made were the artist model 26M. That means that Conn manufactured around 2200 26Ms, and I would guess a very small handful still have their original lacquer in this good of shape.
The sax just received a full mechanical overhaul from Eric Beach prior to sale. He affixed the sax with domed rivetless metal resonators. The sax comes in the original case and both latches still work. The microtuner moves freely.
This is an incredible sounding Conn. The sound is broad and resonant, and can easily fill up a room. It's easy to get up and down in all registers, and the horn can whisper down to low Bb. This would be a prized horn for any player and/or collector.
Amazingly, the original care booklet and warranty card were preserved and will be included along with the sax. Scroll to the bottom of the pictures to see the contents of the booklet. The original Conn Steelay mouthpiece is included.
