Purple Label Yamaha YSS-61 Soprano Saxophone, Near Mint, Video
Yamaha YSS-61 soprano saxophone, s/n 2157. This saxophone is in exceptional original condition. There are zero dings and very few scratches. The body tube looks perfectly straight. The RH thumb hook was upgraded to a more ergonomic solution. It looks like it is a Wood-Stone product, but I am not positive about this. If feels great, and is a nice upgrade. The pads are a mix of older and newer pads, but are in good condition and seal well. I can get around easily in all registers. This is a great sounding horn that lives up to the purple label reputation. It has a full and direct sound that resonates nicely. These horns have become very rare especially in this condition, so this is a really great find.
