1989 Selmer Series II soprano saxophone, s/n 426743. The Series II remains one of Selmer’s top of the line professional soprano saxophones, alongside the Series III. Unlike the Series III, the Series II has a one piece body without an interchangeable neck. This gives the horn excellent resonance, stability, and response. There’s an immediacy to the way it responds to your input that makes this model especially fun and engaging to play.
My repairman just serviced the sax and regulated the pads so they’re sealing well. The pads are in great shape and have most of their life left. There is some oxidation in places, which is expected for a horn that’s over 35 years old, but I don’t see any dents, evidence of dent repair, or significant repairs. The bell flare is also perfect.
