Selmer Super Action 80 Alto Saxophone, Just Serviced
1981 Selmer Super Action 80 alto saxophone, s/n 326024. Here's an early Super Action 80 alto saxophone, made just after the Mark VII model. Sometimes referred to as a Super Action Series I, its official name is a Super Action 80. These are excellent underrated horns, probably since so few were made compared to the Mark VI or Series II. They have a darker and more compact sound than a Series II, and I think make great crossover horns between classical and jazz styles.
My repairman just serviced the sax. He replaced 4 pads and the neck cork. Some of the pads look original, but they're sealing well. The neck has never been bent down. The sax comes in the original Selmer Vanguard case with a case cover.
