Yamaha Custom YTS-82ZII B tenor saxophone, s/n F53931. This is the black lacquer version of Yamaha’s Custom Z tenor, and it looks and plays like a new instrument. The previous owner only played it a handful of times before I acquired it, so the pads are still in perfect condition with very little use.
Cosmetically, this sax is exceptionally clean. I do not see scratches, lacquer wear, or meaningful signs of handling. It compares very closely to a brand-new instrument, but with the benefit of being available without the new-horn price tag.
The YTS-82ZII is one of Yamaha’s most popular professional tenor models, known for its quick response, even scale, and flexible tone. It has the modern Yamaha consistency and intonation players expect, but with a more open and expressive feel than the 875 Custom EX. This would be a great fit for someone looking for a top-level modern tenor in truly outstanding condition.
