Yamaha Purple Label YAS-62 Alto Saxophone, Near Mint, Just Serviced
Yamaha Purple Label YAS 62 alto saxophone, s/n 16602. This is one of the cleanest Purple Label Yamaha 62s I have seen. My repairman just serviced the horn prior to sale. He replaced 10 pads and regulated the rest, so everything is sealing well. He also stripped and cleaned the horn, and it is looking impeccable.
Purple Label 62s have the evenness, excellent key placement and intonation you would expect from a Yamaha. There is a compactness to the core that allows the sax to carry and project, which I think is one reason this vintage has been so popular with both jazz and classical players. It is a horn that can excel in just about any style you need to play, and the Yamaha engineering makes it easy to do so. This is a tremendous horn that remains a ridiculously good value in today's marketplace.
