1957 69,xxx Mark VI tenor saxophone. Here's a striking Mark VI tenor which was nickel plated sometime in the early 60's. The overall condition of the sax is excellent. The neck has the matching s/n and has never been bent down. The horn is overall very straight and doesn't appear to have suffered much trauma in its life. The sax was thoroughly cleaned and polished during the overhaul process, and the end result is quite striking. The original engraving is still quite detailed, indicating that the horn didn't receive excessive buffing during the plating process. However, look at the back of the bell, and you can see "G H" engraved (the placement of the initials is actually pretty well hidden and it took me a few days to notice them for the first time). Although I'm not sure what the letters originally stood for, perhaps they can just stand for "Great Horn!"

The horn has a fresh top of the line overhaull. My tech suggested black roo pads for this horn, and I must admit the combination of nickel plating with the black roos is beautiful. Nylon resonators were used to darken up the sound a bit. The horn comes in a brand new Bam Cabine case, which retails for $400+.

The horn plays extremely well from top to bottom, as one would expect with a top of the line overhaul. The nickel plating has given the horn some extra projection and zing, and the end result is a horn that is extremely engaging and fun to play.
