1965 Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, s/n 127998. Here's an incredibly preserved mid 1960's Mark VI with 99% original lacquer. This is one of those horns that despite being 60+ years old, it has the feel of a new horn. By its look and feel, I doubt it was played much in its lifetime. The lacquer is in wonderful condition and has a rich amber color.
This sax was serviced by my repairman prior to sale. He replaced a handful of pads and rest the rest. The sax plays wonderfully in all registers. It has a nice combination of warmth and projection. Playing down to low Bb is effortless and the palm keys also really sing.
The neck is original to the sax and has never been bent down. It has a matching serial number. The case is also original and has room for a flute and clarinet double.
