1964 118,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Video, Fresh Overhaul
1964 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 118088. Here's a great example of an early 1960's Mark VI tenor. It has original lacquer with approximately 90% present, and a matching serial number neck. The previous owner overhauled the sax just before I acquired it, so the pads are still in new condition. I had my tech look over the sax, so the pads seal perfectly and the sax feels locked in.
Tonally, this Mark VI delivers the sound and feel players chase in these early 100k horns: a rich, layered core with warmth at lower dynamics and the ability to open up with power and edge when pushed. The sax plays effortlessly in all registers.
