92,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, 99% Original Lacquer, Overhaul, Video
This is a rare find - a 1961 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 92665, that is similar in serial number range to legendary saxophonists Michael Brecker and Chris Potter. When it arrived, the sax still had its original pads, so I sent it off to Mike Livingston for a full mechanical overhaul. Mike's work is top notch, and this sax feels incredibly locked in from top to bottom. Mike installed reusable domed rivetless TM brass resonators along with all new pads, felts and corks. He performed extensive keywork, so the action feels tight and locked in, much like the day it left the factory. The sax is in fantastic condition. There are no dents, dings or resoldered areas. The bell flare is perfect. The sax has its original neck which has never been bent down. Overall, this saxophone's pristine condition, vintage character, and renowned serial number range make it a must-have for saxophonists looking for a classic Selmer sound.
