Selmer Series III Tenor Saxophone
1998 Selmer Series III tenor saxophone, s/n 572400. This sax is in excellent overall condition. The pads are in great shape and seal well. The horn has no dents or dings. There's some lacquer loss and scratches from normal use. The neck has never been pulled down. It was previously owned by a college performance major, and you can tell that it was kept in optimal playing condition and alignment. The scale is super even and it can play effortlessly down to a low Bb.
The Series III tenor takes some inspiration from the Mark VI. It has a similar body tube and neck, but it has its own voice. I played on a Series III tenor for several years, and it remains one of my favorite modern Selmers. With a with a bigger bell and bell flare, it has a bigger and more open low end. The intonation is excellent, and the modern keywork makes the horn comfortable and easy to get around.
