192,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Original Lacquer, Just Serviced
Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, s/n 192749. This sax has its original coat of lacquer and approximately 95% is still present. This is a medium bow Mark VI, the most desirable version that offers improved intonation and great projection. My tech just serviced this sax prior to sale, so the pads are sealing well from top to bottom. The previous owner repadded the sax and played it very little after the work was done. As such, the pads are still in great condition. They are affixed with flat riveted metal resonators. The neck is original to the horn and has never been bent down. Two key guard feet have been resoldered. The sax comes in a used ProTec case. The sax looks and feels very clean for its age. It's possible that some dentwork could have been performed on the bow, but otherwise, I don't see any dents or dings, or any work to take any out.
This is a great Mark VI alto. The sax feels tonally balanced between bright and dark. It takes air on efficiently and feels comfortable in all dynamics.
