1938 Selmer Balanced Action Alto Saxophone
1938 Selmer Balanced Action alto saxophone, s/n 27,xxx. This Selmer Balanced Action plays great and has that sweet, centered and focused sound that these are known for. The sax comes in a modern ProTec contoured case. The sax also has almost all of the original metal resonators.
The sax is in great playing condition. My tech replaced a handful of pads and made sure that the others seal perfectly. The horn plays effortlessly down to low Bb. The neck is original to the horn and has the matching serial number on it. As with most BA's, this one does not have the original finish. However, most of the engraving is still present including the cabin and lake scene on the bell.
