1951 47,xxx Selmer Super Balanced Action SBA Tenor Saxophone, Video
1951 Selmer Super Balanced Action tenor saxophone, s/n 47208. This is an outstanding SBA that has a flexible, expressive sound and takes on air easily. It plays well in all registers and can whisper down to low Bb. It was previously owned by a pro who kept the horn in great playing shape. The pads still have a lot of life left. My tech just serviced the sax, so the pads are sealing well. One notable upgrade on this horn is the right hand thumb rest, which was replaced at some point with a more modern Mark VI style thumb hook. This is a huge ergonomic upgrade in my opinion. The neck has never been bent down. The sax comes in a ProTec case, which is in excellent condition.
