1955 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 62912. This is the cleanest, most flawless Mark VI tenor saxophone of any vintage I've ever seen. This single owner horn has spent its life in a dry California climate, and is in remarkably great shape. It's hard to find any flaws on this horn. All of the pads are original and the sax has its complete set of metal resonators. The Chesterfield triple case is in equally great condition and both zippers operate. The sax comes with its original wooden end plug. The neck has a matching serial number.
Amazingly, the sax plays in all registers and can play down to Bb without too much effort. Some of the action feels a bit sluggish from not being played in decades, so the sax would potentially benefit from regulation or overhaul by its next owner.
