1955 63,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Mint/Unused Condition, Video, WOW!
1955 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 63124. Simply put, this is the most pristine Mark VI tenor of any vintage I've ever seen.
This sax was previously owned by a California-based collector, and stored in a low humidity environment. The lacquer is in incredible condition. There are a couple of areas of tarnish, most notably a small spot on the tip of the bow brace. There are no dents or dings and only a few small areas showing any sort of lacquer wear at all. Scroll to the bottom for some extreme close-ups of areas of tarnish or wear that I was able to find.
This once-in-a-lifetime saxophone comes with the original tissue paper still intact and present. Then, if you scroll down to the paperwork, you'll see the original warranty card, instructing the dealer to remove the stub before handing over the saxophone. I've seen many warranty cards with saxophones over the years, but I've never seen this extra stub still intact with a saxophone.
Everything is original with this horn, including the wooden end cap, the original short shank Soloist mouthpiece, and the original pads with reusable resonators. The case is in great condition, having been enveloped by a leather case cover for most of its life. The springs feel tight, as they would on a brand new saxophone.
The sax will include the original case plus a Bam Cabine case, which the saxophone will ship in to avoid any possibility of damage.
