1957 72,xxx Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone with approximately 95% original lacquer. This is a one-owner horn, recently acquired from the original owner's son. It is an absolutely tremendous playing example of a 5-digit Mark VI, and it really captures the essence of what these desired horns are all about. The sax has an incredible core to its sound that is focused, efficient and incredibly locked in. It's expressive and plays effortlessly from top to bottom. It has excellent projection without being too bright. This is one of my absolute favorite Mark VI's I've had in a very long time.
My repairman just serviced the sax and replaced a few missing key corks. The pads are on the older side but the horn is playing so incredibly well right now on them that they don't need to be replaced. There are no resoldered key guard feet. The bell flare is perfect and has never been bent. The neck is original to the horn with a matching serial number. My repairman made a slight adjustment to the taper/angle of the neck. The sax comes in a used ProTec case, but can be upgraded to a Bam Cabine for a low price if you're interested.
