1962 99,xxx Selmer Mark VI soprano saxophone with approximately 90% original lacquer. Here is a very rare 5-digit Mark VI soprano, with a serial number only 20 off from John Coltrane's Mark VI soprano saxophone. This sax still has most of its lacquer intact. The previous owner added a neck strap ring, which is a huge upgrade for Mark VI sopranos. The horn was overhauled within the last 10 years, and although the sax could use a tuneup, the pads are still in good condition and have a lot of life left. Cosmetically, there is a small rectangular patch that is visibly darker than the rest of the horn, caused by removing an adhesive. This can be cleaned up, and should look fine when done so. The sax comes in a ProTec case that protects it well. 5-digit Mark VI sopranos are incredibly rare, and it's even rarer to find one with original lacquer and American engraving. This is a truly unique instrument that will undoubtedly be a world class instrument for its next owner.
