Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone Original Lacquer Metal Resonators
Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, s/n 201,xxx. This is an excellent playing Mark VI that has about 50% of its original lacquer. The previous owner recently had a top of the line overhaul performed on this horn, and fitted it with metal resonators. He decided to sell the horn because he was mostly a tenor player and wanted to see this horn played more than he was able to.
The pads seal exceptionally well, and the response is uncommonly good for a VI. Later VI's that have metal resonators are extremely fun to play. They have extra projection and sizzle that plastic resos sometimes struggle to achieve. If you can find a good later VI, they can be extraordinary values and wonderful horns. This one has the preferred medium bow which has superior intonation. I had the fortune of lining up three later Mark VI's including this one, and could definitely tell that it had more presence than the mark vi's with plastic resonators.
