235,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone
235,xxx Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone. Later Mark VI altos can be incredible playing horns. They tend to have that assertive, punchy quality that many seek out when looking for a good VI. This one is a great playing horn. It's full sounding and assertive, and would make an incredible lead alto. My repairman just performed a full service prior to sale, and the horn is playing well top to bottom. The pads are mixed old and new. I believe that this sax was likely relacquered once in the 1980's, but it's difficult to say for sure. There are 1-2 very small areas that look like the bell was buffed during the relacquer process. However, the tone holes all look nice and deep, and there are no other signs of the sax being relacquered to my eye. If this was relacquered, it was done very well, and would be hard for most to spot. The sax comes in a Selmer case in excellent condition.
