Selmer Reference 36 Tenor Saxophone
Selmer Reference 36 tenor saxophone. In my opinion, this is the best tenor Selmer makes today. There is an ease to the the response that reproduces what the best BA's and SBA's are capable of. Getting down low is surprisingly effortless on this horn. Tonally, the horn is rich and full. The ergonomics are perfect for me, as the palm keys sit slightly closer to the horn than the series III tenor.
This sax is in great condition. It was just set up by my repairman who fixed all leaks. It's now sealing perfectly down to low Bb. The pads are still in great condition and have a lot of life left. The neck was upgraded by the previous owner to a $500+ goldbrass neck which has a higher copper content. The results are excellent and I think the tone and response is a good upgrade to the horn's performance. Overall, the horn is in excellent condition. There are no dents, and only minor lacquer wear and scratches.
