1967 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, s/n 147519. Here’s a fantastic playing 1967 Selmer Mark VI tenor. This horn comes from the 140k serial range, which is known for bridging the gap between the darker, more complex sound of the early Mark VI’s and the added power and projection of the later ones. You get the best of both worlds—tonal richness and depth with a bit more punch when you lean into it.
The lacquer has been stripped, giving it a clean, uniform bare brass look that’s developed a natural patina. It was just serviced and is playing great from top to bottom. The pads are in good shape with a lot of life left, and the horn speaks easily in all registers.
