173,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Near Mint
1970 Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone, s/n 173957. This is a gorgeous original lacquer horn with 99%+ of the lacquer still remaining. My repairman just serviced the horn, replacing one pad and regulating the rest. Most of the pads are original with the original screw in plastic resonators.
This horn has a medium bow, which many players consider the sweet spot in Mark VI design. It offers an ideal combination of response, tonal depth, and accurate intonation.
Playing-wise, this horn delivers everything you want from a great VI. It has excellent projection, is very even tonally, and has an effortless response that makes it easy to play down to low Bb. The intonation is excellent as you'd expect with the medium bow. The sax comes in its original case.
