183,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Original Lacquer, Just Serviced, Video
1970 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 183380. This sax has its original lacquer with approximately 90% still intact. My repairman just serviced this horn prior to sale. He replaced two pads and a handful of corks and felts. The rest of the pads are in decent condition and still have some life left in them. The sax has a shallow ding that's centered on the lower bell guard. The sax comes in its original case.
The sax plays very well. I can get around easily in all registers down to low Bb. The tone is very nice. It's darker sounding than what you expect from a 1970's Mark VI, but full of overtones and sweetness. This is a wonderful example of a later Mark VI, that I think plays closer to an early 1960's vintage.
