1932 Selmer Super Sax 'Cigar Cutter' tenor saxophone, s/n 16815. This is a cigar cutter era Selmer Super tenor saxophone. It was previously overhauled by Doctor Rick in New York City and subsequently maintained by Ken Beason in North Carolina. The pads are still in overall great shape with a lot of life left in them. This horn is playing great from top to bottom. It has a gorgeous spread sound that has a ton of personality. The entire range speaks effortlessly and with a ton of resonance.
According to the previous owner, this sax was previously owned by Babe Russin. The initials B.R. are etched into the side of the neck. Additionally, Babe Russin's name is etched on the inside of the bell.
