1935 Selmer Balanced Action alto saxophone, s/n 21189. Here's a very early Balanced Action alto sax which was one of the first few hundred that Selmer made. This one has a gorgeous dark honey lacquer that like most horns of this vintage is not original. It has a gorgeous centered, sweet tone that this model is known for. My tech just serviced the sax, replacing 3 pads, 3 springs and 8 key corks. He regulated the remaining pads, which are on the older side, but seal well now.
