1949 Buescher Top Hat and Cane Alto Saxophone
1949 Buescher 400 alto saxophone, s/n 330782. This is a B7 model, commonly known as the Top Hat and Cane, from what many players and collectors consider one of the strongest periods of Buescher production. It retains its original lacquer, with roughly 90% still present.
The previous owner was a Buescher collector who kept his instruments in excellent playing condition. This sax has nearly new pads, and the resonators appear to be original. It also retains its Norton gold springs. It comes in a ProTec case.
This is an excellent playing alto with a full, resonant tone on the darker side of the spectrum. It is versatile enough to work well in a wide range of settings, from classical to jazz.
