1957 72,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Near Mint Condition, Video, WOW!
1957 72,xxx Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone in near mint condition. This sax arrived in nearly the same condition as the day it left the factory over 60 years ago. Everything is original -- original pads, resonators, lacquer (99.9%+), mouthpiece, ligature, cap, wooden end cap, etc. The case looks just as good and both zippers feel brand new.
Cosmetically, this horn is not perfect, but it's darn close. There are no dents or dings, and only light surface scratches here and there. This is about as clean of a 5 digit horn I've ever seen. The neck is original to the horn and has a matching serial number.
The horn is being sold as-is and will preferably ship with two cases in the same padded box. You'll get the original Chesterfield case pictured here, plus a new, never used Bam Cabine case, which offers incredible protection and will get the horn to you safely. Since the pads are over 60 years old, they will obviously need some adjustment. However, the horn still plays in its current condition, as you can see from the video below.
