155,xxx Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, 90% ORIGINAL LACQUER, Fresh Overhaul
1968 155,xxx Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone with approximately 90% original lacquer. This is a great sounding and impeccably regulated vintage Mark VI tenor which just received a full overhaul from Aaron Barnard. His repair work is among the very best in the business, and this horn proves it. It has one of the most even scales you're likely to find in a Mark VI, and the low end pops out with incredible ease. The overall condition of the horn is great. The neck is original to the horn, which Aaron adjusted the taper/angle. The bell flare looks great.
The 15x,xxx tenors have a great reputation, and many pro jazz musicians seek this specific range out. They tend to have extra punch and intensity to the sound. If earlier Mark VI saxes are a bit too dark and mellow sounding (and expensive) for you, this is an excellent alternative. This horn has power and confidence but still a ton of warmth and complexity found in the best Mark VI saxophones.
