1961 94,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Just Serviced, Video
1961 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 94312. Here's a 5-digit Mark VI from one of the most desirable vintages of Mark VI tenors. The neck is original to the horn and has a matching serial number. The previous owner plated the keys, which appear to be nickel plated. The lacquer is mostly missing from the horn, but I'm guessing it's not original. The previous owner overhauled the sax just before I acquired it, so the pads are still in new condition. My repairman just serviced the sax prior to sale, so the horn feels locked in and plays well in all registers. The sax is affixed with Noyak style metal waffle resonators. The sax comes in what appears to be its original case, which is in poor condition.
This is a very expressive horn. It has a gorgeous, layered sound that's on the darker side of the spectrum.
