1963 107,xxx Selmer Mark VI Soprano Saxophone, Original Lacquer
1963 Selmer Mark VI soprano saxophone, s/n 107447. This is an American market Mark VI soprano with more than 99% of its original lacquer remaining.
One of the most distinctive features of this saxophone is the original hand engraved “Mark VI” identification below the right-hand thumb hook. This engraving was applied in Elkhart to early Mark VI saxophones, and is rarely encountered on Mark VI sopranos.
My repairman just serviced the saxophone in preparation for sale. He replaced the neck cork, two pads and six key corks, and adjusted the remaining pads so that they seal well. The saxophone plays very well, with effortless response throughout the range.
