1964 118,xxx Selmer Mark VI, Video, Original Lacquer, High F#, Near Mint
1964 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 118296. This is a near-mint original lacquer example from a sought-after vintage, and it’s about as clean as they come. The lacquer is original and extremely well preserved, with very few signs of wear. The neck is original, has never been pulled down, and has a matching serial number. This horn is one of the last Mark VIs built with the older style side Bb and C mechanism before Selmer switched to the ball and socket design. It also has a rare high F# key, which is a must for many saxophonists.
My repairman just went through the sax prior to listing. He replaced four pads and regulated the horn so everything seals well.
This is a fantastic playing Mark VI. It has a rich, colorful core with great projection. The response is quick and even, and the horn speaks effortlessly down to low Bb. The sax comes in its original case.
