1967 146,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Video
1967 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 146463. Mark VI tenors from the 140's are some of my favorite Mark VI's. They tend to possess an enchanting combination of tonal richness found in earlier vintages, but with some extra power and projection that is more common in later Mark VI's. With this vintage, you really get the best of both worlds.
My repairman just serviced this saxophone prior to sale. He replaced a couple of pads and regulated the rest so that they're sealing well. The sax feels and plays great with a lively but complex sound. The sax has plastic domed resonators, similar to what this sax originally came with. The lacquer doesn't appear to be original, but the sax is not overly buffed and the engraving still looks great. The case is original to the sax. The neck is original and has never been bent down.
