1967 Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, Near Mint, Sanborn S/N, High F#, Video
1967 150,xxx Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone with 99+% original lacquer. Here is a prime s/n Mark VI alto in incredible original condition. Altos from 1967 are highly sought after because Selmer had just changed the bow length, offering what many saxophonists feel is the best compromise between sound, response and intonation. Many greats play and collect Mark VI altos from altos produced in this year, including David Sanborn and Kenny Garrett.
The sax arrived having been recently overhauled, and I had my tech perform a full service prior to sale. It's a responsive, easy playing horn that sounds great in all registers. The condition is excellent. An Eb key guard foot appears to have reaffixed, but otherwise I don't see any other repairs. The sound is huge and assertive. It's a very warm sounding horn that has quite a bit of extra volume when pushed. The sax comes in a new top of the line Bam Cabine case.
