1968 155,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Video
1968 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 155982. This is a striking vintage Mark VI which the previous owner relacquered with a black lacquer body and gold lacquer keys. Some of the lacquer had chipped off, so it appears that modeling paint was used in a few areas to cover up the exposed brass. The pads are mixed in age, but most appear to be in excellent condition.
Tenors in the 150,xxx range tend to have some great energy with a focused, full sound. This one plays incredibly well from top to bottom, and has an absolutely enormous sound. Looks can be deceiving but when it comes to how this horn responds and plays, this is an incredible saxophone.
