217,xxx Selmer Mark VI Alto Saxophone, 90% Original Lacquer, High F#, Video
217,xxx Selmer Mark VI alto saxophone with approximately 90% original lacquer. This is a rare Mark VI with the optional F# key, which for so many players is a must-have feature. The sax is in great condition overall with some lacquer wear from honest playing over the years. The pads are mostly older, but my repairman just serviced the horn and it's currently playing well from top to bottom. The neck is original to the horn and has never been bent down. The sax comes in the original case, and both zippers function, although the guides are missing.
Later medium-bow Mark VI's are fabulous playing horns. They have a medium bow length, which is generally accepted as having the best intonation between the various designs. The later horns around 200,xxx have some extra power and body to their sound that makes them awesome horns. For the price/value ratio, you can't do better than a later original lacquer VI like this one.
