265,xxx Selmer Mark VII Alto Saxophone, Near Mint, Video, Just Serviced
Selmer Mark VII alto saxophone, s/n 265704. This horn is in excellent overall condition and looks like it's barely been played in its life. My repairman just serviced the sax and replaced one pad, two key corks, and one felt. Most of the pads are original. It plays with ease and consistency from top to bottom.
Cosmetically, the horn looks terrific. It's very clean with zero dents or dings. The lacquer has aged beautifully and is almost 100% intact. Mechanically, everything feels tight and responsive.
The Mark VII often represents one of the best values in the vintage Selmer lineup. It retains the classic vintage Selmer sound. It's centered, rich, and complex while offering a slightly more robust key layout compared to the Mark VI. This particular example is a great choice for someone seeking a professional level horn at an appealing price point.
