4000 Series Heckel Bassoon
4472 Heckel Bassoon. Here's a relatively untouched early 1900's bassoon that recently arrived with its original case and two prewar bocals, which I believe are original to the bassoon. A previous owner added an Eb trill key, but I don't believe there are any other modifications from how it came from the factory. Also, I believe the case is original to the bassoon, which is quite rare and unique.
The bassoon was recently shipped to Ken Potsic in Atlanta for restoration. His work is world class, and the repairs should be completed by the end of July. His intent with this bassoon is to keep it as original as possible, including the unique whisper key configuration. This bassoon has a wonderful timbre and scale, and should be an incredible specimen once repairs are completed. The bocals are in good working condition and a good match for this bassoon, but the new owner may want to have them adjusted and repaired to their liking.
The bassoon can be purchased immediately with delivery by the end of July. The cost includes the cost of repairs and restoration.
