This is a remarkably well-preserved 1958 Selmer Mark VI alto, serial number 78650. It’s a medium bow model from the 5-digit range—a rare combination that Selmer only made for a short period. These are among the most sought-after Mark VI altos for good reason: the medium bow offers improved intonation and response in the low end without sacrificing the tonal complexity that makes this era of horns so special.

The horn is in near mint condition, with original lacquer that's nearly fully intact and detailed, clean engraving. The pads are in new condition, and the sax appears to still have its original metal resonators. The neck is original to the horn with a matching serial number and has never been bent down.

It’s rare to find a horn like this, both in terms of vintage and condition. A great option for someone who wants a top-shelf example of one of the best altos Selmer ever made.
