82,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, 98% Original Lacquer, Brecker S/N
1959 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone. Here is a one-owner Mark VI that is in impeccable original condition. The lacquer is original and approximately 98% remains. The neck has a matching serial number and has never been bent down. The bell flare looks great. Most of the original metal resonators are still present. There are several shallow dings that can easily be taken out and a low C guard foot may have been resoldered in the past. The pads are a mix but most still have a lot of life left in them. The Selmer case is in excellent condition and comes with a leather case cover. Both latches work although the spring mechanism has failed on both.
This is an incredible sounding Mark VI, as you'd expect with this vintage. It's not an in your face sound that you get with a lot of 1960's Mark VI's. Instead, it has a wonderful vocal quality to the sound that is in the pocket but can still project when you need it to. It can probably benefit from a setup or overhaul, but as you can hear in the video, it's already playing incredibly well.
