85,xxx Low A Selmer Mark VI Baritone Saxophone, Original Silver Plated
Selmer Low A Mark VI baritone saxophone, s/n 85449. Here's a rare 5-digit low A baritone saxophone. It was manufactured in 1960, one of the very best years of Mark VI production. The silver plating is original and around 50% remains. The neck is original to the horn and has never been pulled down. There is quite a bit of dentwork on the sax mainly in the bow area. The pads are in good condition and have quite a bit of life left. The resonators are metal. My repairman just serviced, cleaned and polished the horn, so it's sealing well in all registers and can play easily down to low A.
The sax has a gorgeous, sweet sound that is incredibly expressive. This is a stunning sax.
