86,xxx Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone, Brecker Vintage, Video
1960 Selmer Mark VI tenor saxophone, s/n 86007. This sax was manufactured right in the middle of Selmer's best tenors they ever produced. Many professionals seek out horns from this vintage, including Michael Brecker, whose own horn was 863xx, just a few hundred off from this one.
I recently acquired this horn from its longtime owner. It just received a full service by my repairman prior to sale. He regulated the pads so they seal well. I can get around easily in all registers. The pads are on the older side, but they're soft and still have plenty of life left. Like many saxophones of this vintage, the lacquer is not original. The neck is original to the horn and has a matching serial number.
